This project was to map data taken from the song Chorus by Holly Hedron, which is mainly made up of sound bites the musician strung together and layered ontop of eachother to create the song. The music video's imagery was very glitchy and confusing, reminding me of old computer screen faces and icons. 

The data I took from the music was the sound bites, I wanted to visualise these overlapping sound bites so you could read through the song. I categorised each sound and design an icon for each, I then arranged them into a second by second grid and placed each icon appropriately to where they appeared in the song.

I named this piece Phantasmagoric Error to reference the dream like sounds heard in the song that aren't quite clear and sound quite glitchy, like the computer was having problems playing the song clearly.

These squares would be present in the social media posts to give a teaser to the song visually. Each symbol correlates to the sound being described, using the same designs used as in my readable song grid.
